Asif, maybe you misunderstood the question??? They will do fine on trees as long as you have the climate for them. The question is how will they do on the fungus that grows on some trees. It is shell shaped and grows on a tree like a shelf.

Asif, you haven't bothered anyone. I wonder if you have this type of fungus growth where you live. It is shaped like a clam shell and grows out on a tree like a shelf.

Hope you will keep posting, maybe you could get a picture of what you are talking about. I'll try to find a picture of what I'm talking about. I know I don't have any of these growths on any trees around my home but I'll be on the look out for one.

Regards,
Al

Here's a picture of what I think Al is trying to describe. My son got this off a birch tree ages ago and I've used it as decoration in a cacti arrangement. And if this is what you mean, I don't think it would be strong enough to use as a mount. Hope this helps. And another thing, asif, you are never a bother! We love hearing new ideas and tossing them about to see if it would work or not. That is the beauty of having such a diverse group. Keep on posting, you are always very welcome here!
