I see you are in South Florida - Phals, Dens, Cats all grow great. First I suggest a dendrobium from your HD. They grow easy outside, often bloom more than once a year and they are inexpensive. Beware of direct light - our sun will burn them. Otherwise - no worries.
Join the local orchid society at the Davie Ag extension. Great meeting, lots of info.

I'd try a Oncidium or Paph! I can rebloom those but can't for the life of me get a Phal to rebloom. Plus the less "boring" to look at!
