Hi neighbour!

Clouds always have excellent plant, and they are very helpful if you have any questions. Paramount and Forestview are both very good vendors too. There is a list of Canadian vendors on the COC website if you want to know "who's out there"

Forestview is great. Heard good things about Clouds (but never had the chance to purchase from them yet).

I'm not too happy with Paramount. I bought a masdevallia at a show recently, when one of the leaves started to yellow and dry I pulled it out of the pot to repot it into fresh medium (something I always do when I purchase plants to make sure they're okay, except when they're from Forestview because I know they'll be fine) and I was very surprized that it only had 2-3 half decent roots.

Its funny you mentioned this because I picked up mine at a show and the one catt had some damage done to the leaf (bit yellow, textured and curled). I didnt think much of it until a week later and the other leaves were going too. I pulled it out and most of the roots were rotted! All the others were fine. So I'm hoping I can save that one. I did place another order with them. I'm going to try Forestview next, they have some lovely looking Miltonias in! I need a big greenhouse!!

I second Oscarman's recommendations. You can get good plants from all three.

Awesome! It'll be clouds one day. I just wish they had more in blooming size than they do. I'm too impatient to wait!

Hi everyone!!! I had a look on forestview Gardens (I'm from Canada too) and am very interested in the Phal. bastianii (Forestview Gardens, Orchids for Sale - Phalaenopsis Species ).

The thing is that it is a seedling, so I would like to know how long it would take to get to blooming size?

Do you think it is a good investment??

Have any of you bought from Forestview in the past? (I'm kind of reluctant to put my Credit card number on Internet without knowing the site is really secure)

Is Phal. bastianii easy to grow? Does it smells good or not (I don't want any stinking orchids or my dad will sure kill it!!) ?

Any other advice???

I'd say it depends on the size of the seedling. If its small then maybe 30 months, and if larger then maybe 18 months or so (???). Probably best to just ask them. They have been very nice when I've talked to them. I havent ordered from them....yet!
