Default Orchid Pro from Turf Pro-- your experience

Hi all--

I received my shipment of OrchidPro this week from Turf Pro. It arrived UPS, safely packaged and in a timely manner-- so no complaints about the process from me. Per the instructions I water my chids with three tablespoons to one gallon of water, after having shaken the bottle well (this stuff is very dark-- not really thick but you can tell there is loads of stuff in it-- though what it all is I do not know!). I added a weak dose of fertilizer, too-- as if i'm not mistaken this solution is not a fertilizer but a sort of slury made to improve uptake of nutrients the orchids need to thrive. I just watered last night so I haven't any reports to give but want to see if anyone else had any testimonials. Photos of befores and afters would be great.

An update on my phals-- I'm up to six right now-- and my latest one is tiiiiiiiiny! Gorgeous flowers despite being so small-- they rock. My Phal species schilleriana is growing new roots and even new additions to old roots. Also, my white phal, from Big Lots (still cracks me up I got an orchid at Big Lots), has decided it wants to grow more flowers on the same spike while also pushing at least one new root. This phal, like all of my phals, have been planted in hydroton and at least this one and my schilleriana have both reacted in a very positive manner!

My yellow and purple phals that have root issues are still fighting the good fight-- hope they pull through.

Looks interesting Ryan. Let us know if you see any improvments using it.

I've been using the fert. and suppliments from Fantasy Orchids in Louisville, CO and my orchids (most of them came from Fantasy Orchids) seem to be liking it. My Brassavola cordata is throwing up new leaves all over the place and I was moving around some of the potting mix and found three new roots growing out the side. That and I've been using rain water lately collected from the down spouts and then filtered through the Brita to remove any stuff from the roof or gutters.

Anyhow, that's great about your plants that are responding!! Yeah!

Hi Chas!

Louisville?????? I didn't know we had a local grower! Score! I would love to visit them sometime.

Like I said-- not sure about the orchidpro stuff yet but hey-- anything to give them a leg up. I'm beginning to realize these phals don't require much-- but if I can give them their perfect diet, then all the better.

Too bad we don't get more rain-- or at least rain frequently! Today was a bit of a surprise for me. I walked to the library thinking it'd be a nice walk and it started to rain! I was confused by the weird wet stuff smacking me on the head. I forgot what rain (not snow) felt like.

How's your blooming video going? Can't wait to see it.

Well if we had more rain here then it wouldn't be the high plains desert that it is! Yeah, it was beautiful this morning. My daughter had a soccer game. Luckily we got that in before the nasty mist came.

As for the video, well I couldn't continue the footage to the very end to fully open. I got most of it though. In all almost 4 minutes of a time lapse bloom opening. After doing tat I am wondering if the bloom doesn't need a certain portion of darkness to complete the opening. Mine seem to always open at night.

BTW, did you see my photos of my Phal. stuartiana after it finally opened? It's such a cool little plant!

Yes I did-- they're beautiful! I thought I had responded but maybe I thought I did and didn't. Work has had me crazy busy lately and I think I do some things without realizing it!

But yes, your phal stuart. is freaking sweet!

I would love to see some before and after photos of this stuff! Never heard of it before, but might give it a try... Who knows?
