So my Phal. stuartiana finally blew it's top and bloomed! Yeah!!! It's a pretty cool little plant and one that I nursed back to health. When I bought it the poor plant was bone dry. So much so that it lost one leaf and the others looked all wrinkled and two of them were very droopy. A little TLC, water and fertilizer and whammo, it's back! The leaves are all rigid again and no more wrinkles.

Phal. stuartiana in bloom:

I was hoping that the yellow would be a bit more intense, but these buds just opened all the way earlier today and it was pretty distressed when I got it. So I'm thinking that when it blooms again next year the flowers will be better from a much more healthy plant.

So far I'm pretty stoked with this little plant. What a toughy and trooper it is!

That is really beautiful! Are they difficult to grow, or you're good at keeping them.

Thanks for sharing those beautiful flowers!

Good going Chas. That's a nice looking plant. I really like the leaves on it. The flower is also striking with the difference of pure white and spotting.

Good job Chas, it's really satisifying to bring back a plant and have results like this.
Great pics too!

Very nice Chas! Is this your first Phal species?

Sorry I missed Tagawas rose party last night-- the weather was just too bad for my taste. And besides, I'm totally sick with a cold or flu right now ( But at least I have your nice photos to cheer me! How many buds has this plant?

It must like the conditions I am keeping it in. As for difficulty of growing, actually it's pretty easy. I'm a newbie at this really and look what I've done!
It has a total of 4 buds and just this morning I noticed a whole other new growth on the stalk that appears to be the plant branching off in another direction. Maybe more buds? I'm not sure really, but it's growing nicely and I like that!
Thanks for all the help getting me back on the road with this fella, it is gratifing to see your efforts returned with this kind of show!

Wonderful rescue Chas, it's a beautiful plant. Sometimes the color darkens after a day or two.
