hey its all about experience... if it didnt work for you... next time try the foam who knows it will work on yours. i failed on the sphag and bag thing... but i got it all worked on the foam... dont know if it would work in your area. the good thing dat i learned from the foam is dat it doesnt make the plant sit on water, 2nd since its a synthetic material so i think no bacteria or fungi or mold would grow into that material - ( i havent seen one) 3rd it holds moisture and air... = humidity? ionno i hope ray has the explanation or maybe try using this kind of method... i actually dont give any attention to my back bulbs... I always think that if the bulbs lives then its for you if it dies then it wont live for you!
im still struggling on vanda... but theres a root came out... but i accidentally tied it a bit tight then i just saw the roots kinda in an odd shape kinda like a flat root thing haha... i hope it would grow on some area.. wish me luck! anyway i dont expect this technique would be use forever. i think its just for rooting and growing small plants... if its large enough u can transfer them in a larger pot with your desired medium. But now im adding some orchids with foam too...
