Good Orchids for Mounting

Hey everyone,
I am wanting to try mounting some orchids, but I do not know which types will do best mounted. I live in Arkansas, so, preferably I need a species that will be able to survive here. Thanks for the help!

I mount just about anything I can get my hands on, just to try it out

I have Phals, Catts, Dendros, Oncis, Tolumnias, and many Species types.

This is my photoshare link. About half way down, get past the Vandas, you'll lots of mounts from there on.

Hi Cojak, welcome to the board! It's nice to have you with us.

I have several mounts but the bulk of mine are minis that are in my vivarium. The temps in the tank maintain 24/7 @ 70 degrees with two 4 inch fans, a T5 light fixture and are misted at a minimum of once a day.

Ornithophora radicans
Barbosella handroi
Dendrobium abberans
Dendrobium aggregatum
Dendrobium atroviolaceum pygmy type
Haraella odorata
Lepanthes manabina
Maxillaria uncata
Mediocalcar decoratum
Pleurothallis grobyi
Sedirea japonica (this one is mounted on a rock)

The mounts that I have outside (NE Florida in summer can get up to 110 degrees)

Bulbophyllum curtisii
Bulbophyllum NoID #1
Bulbophyllum NoID #2

These plants get misted at a minimum of twice a day during the summer and prefer lower light levels (like dappled light from a tree or shade house).

I agree with all the above. Just about any epiphytic orchid can be grown mounted. I have lots of minis mounted and growing in a vivarium. I have some rather large orchids mounted and growing in my south-facing window box. Guess the best way to approach this is to decide what you want to grow, then ask us if there's any reason why you cannot grow it mounted.
