In nature they are rare and illegal to collect. There are some sources for legal plants grown from seed. I am sure someone will chime in here with some sources.

Cool Your orchids are spectacular

Ross,
I just looked at your blog and your orchids are exactly the kind I want and love!

I also have a preference for minis but my collection isn't anywhere near as gorgeous as yours.

Do you grow under lights? in a greenhouse? Where do you get your orchids?
I am envious!!!

They are also difficult to grow unless you have specific conditions ..
I strongly suggest you do a little homework first before purchasing this one

This past thread is about growing ghosts - it will start at page one but includes 8 pages of posts full of information and grower's experiences. Just click on the following link -
Polyrhizia lindenii (ghost orchid)

If you wish to find more past thread on ghost orchids ..
- simply go to the top of this thread
- find the search option and click it
- type in ghost orchid into the blank field and hit GO
- it will bring up a screen of past threads all pertaining or including ghost orchids in their posts

Rolando, I knew someone would come up with a source. They seem to come and go.

Suz: Nearly half of mine are grown under really high humidity in a Wardian Case (I call it "the tank"). The humidity runs from 90% to 99% depending on the location in the tank. The top is less (90%) and the bottom is most (99%) because of the standing water in the bottom of the tank. Angraecoids (Angracum and Aerangis and similars) tend to seek out higher humidity, warmer temps and mid to higher light. I tried Ghost Orchid and it was dismal for me. I finally threw it away! I will one day try again, but not any time soon.

All my minis are grown under lights (t5 florescents) in a wardian case. The case gets misted automatically for 5 seconds every 4 hours. This is more for humidity than watering. I water the mounts every other day. I have purchased from Andy's Orchids Andy's Orchids - Orchids Species - Orchids - Species Specialist - Orchids on a stick, Parkside Orchids: Parkside Orchid Nursery Hoosier Orchids (who appears to be going out of business) Untitled Document and Hausermann MINIATURE ORCHIDS<b: Orchids By Hausermann Hope this helps.

There is a lady I know in Stuart, FL, that has lots of them but they aren't the variety that grows down there in the Everglades. I visit her from time to time when I'm down there visiting family and she must have 20+ but as Dorothy said very clearly, these guys aren't for everyone. From what Alexis told me they absolutely need warmth and humidity. She sells them for about $15 - $20...very nice plants but again wasting your $$$$ if you haven't the right conditions.

I know that you want a ghost orchid, but I happened across several similar (in apperance) fragranced orchids that you might also be interested in.
