Need help for paph. leaf color
Default Need help for paph. leaf color

Hi, I got this paph saint swithin last month. Today, the bottom leaf shows some kind of orange color. I knew bottom leaf turn yellow is normal, but not expecting to see this color. It is a mid-size paph seedling, leaf span is about 10 inches. It is in its original pot, I water it every 2-3 days depends on weather. Most time, the top soil is dry after 2 days. Upon touching the leaves, I don't feel softness. Please let me know if there is any problem? If yes, what kind of treatment I need to proceed.
Thanks in advance for any advices.

Yes, it sits on my window sill. It is around 30F outside, but my apartment is pretty warm over 70F most time. Window is closed, but I am sure there alway some kind of breeze gets in.

hey there sugar cat,

meh, its possible it is some bigger issue, but honestly i wouldn't stress. we have seen almost every color on the rainbow as our paph leaves fade off. like you mention, that would only worry me if it was a new, growing leaf. but since its an older one, just let it keep going brown and gently remove it when its totally crispified.

good luck!

ah, yes, welcome to the ob!

just to second what wd wrote, while the paphs generally like it cool, they seem to dislike extreme air movements. and we have gotten cold burn on leaf tips when they have touched windows in winter. but cold burn looks dark brown and splotchy and the tips curl all weird...that orange that you show we usually just see on leaves that are fading off...

the same goes for warm/hot drafts from forced air systems....
