Floppy Laelia anceps growth Male
Default Floppy Laelia anceps growth

Hello,

I have a Laelia anceps that has put out some new growths a couple of weeks ago. In between moving places, I left the orchid outside without an acclimation period and it got a bit sunburnt. I currently have it inside where it receives direct light for about 6 hours every day. Is the weird new growth due to lack of light, water, or nutrition?

Thank you for your time and help,

Nicolas D. Perez

I don't know about anyone else, but it is so hard to tell from that pic... any chance of some close-ups of the new growth and the pbulb?

If you mean the growth position, that's normal. They grow to where they want, that's an unrully species. When in small containers, they outgrow them very quickly.

If it's easy to move and floppy, it's probably insufficient light.

Yes this is exactly the case. I will move it to a brighter area. Thank you for your help once again.
