Echeverias should grow easily for you. Any idea what happened? I lived in a similar climate for many years.

I use lights and they get a bit leggy plus some white flies and root rot got my prize specimen, I like agaves and crested succulents.

They'll grow happily outside on your veranda. They're landscape plants in southern California. It's almost impossible to give them enough light indoors.

I put them all out when it is sunny and if they need watering I leave them in the rain but bring them in as soon as the are wet enough, am terrified of over watering them, the lights work ok but you cannot stress them into awesome colors with lights, I have battled spider mites and other pests but it all seems relatively good atm, hope I am not challenging the universe with that statement, lol, I am building a shaded area with rainproofing as well and maybe then they can go outside.

Most are cloud forest species accustomed to being wet. Just put one outside in well-draining media and don't worry. Water it once a week.

Hey Martin. I sent you a long reply about my thinking on best potting medium for us. May have lost it?
Let me know if you didn’t get it.
Cheers

While I don't grow Ceologyne I know that some are cooler growers while others can be grown warmer.
The ones you listed are the Himalayan type so these like cooler temperature probably 26 - 28C
David Banks has an article on this genus that is worth a read
You can find it via Google just using
The Genus Coelogyne by David Banks

Thanks for the heads up, am going to research each of the plants when they get here which is of course the wrong way round, I bought them all from local grower's so I presumed the weather conditions would be appropriate for me.
