Help with lepanthes-calodictyon black spots and edges on leaves.
Just got this beautiful lepanthes-calodictyon from J&L orchids yesterday, but upon closer look I realized there’s black spots and edges on the leaves.
It’s kept quite moist/wet in the pot that it came with. I’m wondering 💭 if the black spots are related and being kept too wet. Should I unpot it and let it air out a bit?
Humidity is kept between 75%~85% via a fogger. Misting is scheduled every other day for 40seconds in the morning when light turns on
I have two barina led grow light at 18inches kept on for 12 hrs.
I have usb fan for airflow it’s not automated yet. I still haven’t figure out what’s the optimal airflow (any tips here on how to best set this up?)
Mistking
Looking for a misting system? Look no further. Automated misting systems from MistKing are used by multitude of plant enthusiasts and are perfect for Orchids. Systems feature run dry pumps, ZipDrip valve, adjustable black nozzles, per second control! Automatically mist one growing shelf or a greenhouse full of Orchids.
I would keep an eye on it but it will probably be fine.
I do not think the pot is an issue. It is probably easier to keep moisture around the roots that way. My Lepanthopsis astrophora came potted and I will probably eventually mount it on cork but, for now, it seems fine. It did drop a few leaves upon arrival (October) but has been fine since then.
