Birthday order help

Good day,

My fiancée lives in the greater Houston, TX area. She loves orchids.

She has a patio and a backyard.

Her birthday is coming up in a couple of days, I am out of the country and want to order some beautiful orchids for her, preferably something that can be delivered on Tuesday July 18, if not, then sometime this week.

1) Is there any vendor either in the greater Houston area or anywhere else whom you recommend?

2) Which orchid(s) would you recommend, which are easier to maintain, do well in a pot, and maybe a bit exotic?

Most orchid nurseries can handle overnight shipping. I might suggest contacting Orchids by Hausermann in metro Chicago. They always have large plants loaded with buds ready to ship. You need to contact them directly because not everything will be on their Web site, and they can make recommendations about what looks best right now. This is what they have on their Web, site, but they are likely to have Cattleyas in bud as well:

I was gonna say the same! Hausermans had some really nice orchids in bloom. I recommend getting some big floofy Cattleyas because they will be stunning in bloom and should grow well in your climate afterwards
