Orchid Album
Does anyone here use the Orchid Album app or any other app to keep track of watering and potting etc. If so, I would appreciate your thoughts on it. I don’t want to spend $8 on it if not good. Senior on fixed income.

I'm a total data geek, wrote an Access application years ago. I can't evaluate this app, don't have an iPhone. But in general, looking that the things that I find important to track - Genus, grex or species, parentage (to handle unnamed crosses), when I got the plant, how much I paid, Then, I track potting and bloom dates. I keep photos in a separate folder, keep links in the database (otherwise size gets out of hand fast). Would not want to track watering... that's something that happens every few days. Fertilizing is when I get around to it. The historical record of potting and blooming can be quite useful over time.
Something to think about when you're first starting to track your plants (easier to do when you just have a few) - how to unambiguously identify a specific plant, since over time you may have more than one with the same name. I give every plant a unique number. Makes it really quick to find a record in a search (numbers on the plant tags)

You might find people discussing it here if you use the Search function in the top maroon menu. An OB members wrote an orchid tracking app but I can't recall whether it is this one.

If you happen to own Orchidwiz, the Journal feature is very, very good. It handles the one-to-many data elements such as potting and bloom history, and photos, something that spreadsheets don't do so well. (I would have used it except that my home-brew database already contained hundreds of records that I couldn't gracefully transfer by the time that OW came along with that feature.)

I know the developer was responsive when I sent an email to him a few years ago.
I was asking about the possibility of an android version.
Maybe an email to him will get some further information for you.

I use Excel too. I have named columns and I make good use of the comments feature and rolling headers,
hyperlinks to a seperate photo file.
Between that and being able to change font colour and cell colour it does everything I want.
