What’s this bulb on my bloomed orchid?

Hello!

I bought this orchid a while back and I believe it’s coming near the end of its bloom because one flower has already started to wilt. There’s this tiny bulb at the end of the branch that’s been there since I bought it or for at least a while. (I haven’t noticed it until recently) it hasn’t grown or shown any signs of it. But I was wondering if I should cut the spike off after the flowers fall or not because, I don’t want to cut the spike off if the bulb would sprout eventually and be another branch and flower again. Thanks!

You are correct in not removing the spike. Phals. will often take a short rest after the first group of blooms have finished and then begin to lenghen the spike and develope more buds. Generally, it's a good idea to not cut the spike until it begins to yellow.
