I had this 5" diameter glass globe sitting around, new dendrobium keikis, baby air plants (Tilliandsia) and Borro's Tail (Sedum morganianum) so I chose to create a - Mini - orchid terrarium.
I'll just mist it in the AM so as not to*flood it, keep it partly covered with clear film and give it a little indirect sun.
I figured it would be fun to see what might be happy and growing in there!
My orchid shipment from Hawaii contained a psychopsis potted in bark and on the bark there was some nice moss growing. I figured, why not so I took this moss and introduced it into my mini terrarium experiment. Maybe I'll be growing Hawaiian Moss!!
I believe my dendrobium keiki will be happy in there!
I'll keep the group posted incase anyone is interested.
True! Some air-movement and having the temperature not too cold will definitely help. Otherwise - could encounter fungal issues later on. May also expect algae growth later - on the surfaces of the media etc.
