New stem growing from old stem node, where to cut?

Hello! I've had a Phal orchid for almost 6 months, it did great and bloomed wonderfully through winter months! I was waiting for the last flower to fall before cutting the stem back, but new stems started to grow out of nodes before that happened.

I've never had that happen before, so wasn't sure where/if to cut. I thought it was another flower, but it has stem nodes.

Thank you in advance for any advice! This was probably a really basic obvious Orchids 101 thing. But I couldn't find advice EXACTLY for this when I looked. I tried!

You can cut where you indicated, or just leave it for now. I have a Phalaenopsis that did such a side branch, and then decided to produce more flowers at the end of the original spike, above where the old flowers were, in addition. If had rushed to cut, I would have missed out on those very nice flowers. Stem is green, I would suggest just leaving it alone for now unless it starts to turn brown at the tip and looks ugly.

Branch spikes are not uncommon. Bonus flowers to follow, and sooner than growing a full new spike. The cuts you suggest are entirely appropriate.
