hello. I'm back. The vendor is orchidsbyeli out of PR. Their feedback is good. Good luck. I bought the 35.00 one--which is the mid-range price he had available.

cb977,

Were you able to finally get one? Mine just arrived today and it's pretty big.

What's the best growing medium for these things? I intend to grow it outside on my front porch.

Sue,
I just got back from Maui today and I was able to go to EOoM on Friday and scored pretty well with some really great plants. I was also able to see your plant and it looks pretty healthy with new growth, though the flowers were pretty much dead. They definitely wanted to keep it!! Maybe we'll see it on their offerings in a few years.

Hello -
I see you are from Texas (of course, it is a moderately large area...) - the New Orleans orchid society is hosting a show in Metairie this weekend, and at least three vendors (that I saw) had this plant for sale. I did not note which ones, or what the prices were. However, when we go back tomorrow to tear down our society's display, I will *try* to remember to make note of the vendors and prices, and collect business cards. Some of the vendors are from out of town, but at least a few are from the Pasadena/Houston areas.
Regards - Nancy

Default Growth habits questions

Thanks, Nancy. I hope your show goes off without a hitch! I would love to see any pictures you might take, there. I found my P. elata from EFG orchids...nice bunch, a Hauserman nursery. The plant is HUGE and has put off 3 new growths. I was wondering what their blooming season is and what they look like in bloom. Got to get me a digital camera ... keep saying that, so I must be a !! Do these plants like to be pot bound or do they prefer loads of fresh media with a large place to roam? I was spending some time with it, yesterday, and those questions started flowing through the back of my mind. Anyone know? Thanks.
