I can't go in the pool with the leg still wrapped up. The dressing will be removed next Weds...which really stinks because the pool temp is perfect at 86 degrees!!!

Looks like a good plant! Hopefully it doesn't bloom out to be Peristeria pendula, but the size sure sounds right!

Default You got yours, already?!?!?

Suzanne,
I am so jealous!! Mine hasn't arrived, yet. I check the mail, the porch...just hoping it will get here, soon! I thought the spikes were erect, too. Good growing to you

P. elata is almost extinct in nature here in Panama' because of the huge prices people will pay. I've found one plant in the wild and won't even show the pictures I took because certain plants near it would tell too many people where it is.
If your spike is growing downward, it's probably P. pendulata.

Well, if it turns out to be anything other than Per elata, EOoM is going to get an earful! We'll see what happens.

Oh man, I would love to have a pendulata. I have an extra elata that I would definitely trade for, though I would like to see them get established first. I wonder if that would be possible, seeing as I live in Hawaii. You're not coming to the islands anytime soon are you??

Mike from EOoM replied to my email and says yes, it is odd that the growth is turned downward but that it should spike vertically on the next go-round...

I asked him to confirm that there wasn't a mistake made and that pendulata wasn't sent accidentally...waiting to hear back from him again.
