I just finished finally with an ebay sale that was a nightmare! I sold all my plants from my greenhouse and shut it down in august...I had some really nice plants, and almost everyone loved them! almost..lol...I had one man in Houston buy a bunch, my plants were advertised as being sent bare root...when his first order arrived, he shot me back an email complaining they were bare root and hence going to DIE! I was shocked! he obviously did not know what he was buying, and out of 4 plants to be sent bare root, I did send 2 in pots anyway as there was room in the box, he ended up with only 2 bare root plants!...after consulting with ebay, I halted his orders that were unpaid for, and resold those plants. the ones he received he complained to ebay about, saying they were not as represented...I did not want to refund his money as he was difficult to deal with thru the sale, did not pay promptly, and was generally a pain in the butt...besides, it was plainly stated in the adv, NO REFUNDS (as I was closing the greenhouse) and BARE ROOT SHIPPING!...and I knew my plants were gorgeous specimens when sent....after a couple weeks, ebay felt the same way and would not refund his money....so, he went to paypal, saying the plants were not as represented....paypal denied his claim after about 3 weeks....the plants were obviously good plants, he just was a stinker...so a few more weeks go by...and, 3 months after the sale, he puts a chargeback on his credit card to prevent them from paying his bill, or getting his money back....and finally, after a few more weeks, they denied him too...it was very aggravating...and I will never ever sell on ebay again because of this headache...during all this mess, he even sent me back 4 plants, dead as doornails, dried up desiccated husks which did not even resemble the plants I sent him..i sent big plants out of 6" pots, and he returned what looked like they had been bag babies from lowe's with no tags either, I think he was trying to steal my plants!...oh, it was a horrible experience!!....

that's my point of view from a sellers perspective....

yes, I saw the pics...I have no doubt tho, that shermantp will refund/replace....he has a reputable business on ebay...and I am sure he wants to keep it...and I agree with you that he should never have sent that particular plant...I would never have shipped out something like that....maybe he had a helper who really didn't know what he was doing...

Definitely should get a refund from him. I used to buy a lot from him, but as you said he buys from ecuagenera and resells them. I feel like the plants he offers are not worth the markup since he does not allow any of the plants time to settle in. Most of them come wrapped as they do when ecuagenera ships them. Now I buy directly from ecuagenera or from Seattle orchids. At least seattle orchids tries to get the orchids established before selling them, which in my eyes justifies the mark up. I believe they are incredibleorchids on Ebay

I was bored today and decided to see if there was anything new and exciting to make me want to buy on ebay, I saw they had A LOT (15 or so) new plants up and they all did not look to be the best condition...very sad...

I also went ahead and decided to POLITELY send an email requesting that they go ahead and refund my money.

I am very sad by this because I got my FDK. After dark from them for 15.00 and it is in excellent shape as well as my Frilly Doris who is now going into winter sleep.

I think that I will wait a while before buying from this seller again. Especially if I see the signs that it is from the seller originally from the seller in Ecuador.

Thanks again everyone.

Me as well, he even said would give me a 6.00 shipping discount for having to send it back. He did say he will continue trying to rehab them, no but agreed to just go ahead and allow me a refund.

Now for paypal to refund it back to my card....30 days...let the impatient waiting begin!
