Lol, my dad is a practical joker too... and... I can be fairly long-winded myself from time to time, for the exact same reasons as you So it's nice to see a kindred spirit
EDIT: Doesn't one of our OB members use tea to fertilize their (his) orchids?

Yous should do a 5th grade experiment if you really wanna find out . Go to home depot buy the cheapest orchids of the same hybrid give them exact culture just water one with the tea. Tea is an ontioxident. All teas come from the same plant, Camellia sinensis, in black teas such as earl grey the leaves are left to oxidize unlike green tea which is not oxidized at all. I would imagine that it makes the water similar to the water running down a tree trunk that passes through decaying leaves and other vegetation.
