I've had suggestions from others, but would appreciate any info. Our weather tends to be mild (Intermeditae, not Warm), with about 60% humidity.
So far, I'm seeing some tiny new green nubs on the end of the roots, nothing choking or dying. However, there is no way I can keep this orchid much warmer or higher humidity on the coast - I don't use special lighting, spraying, humidity, etc. I'm strictly a "natural" house grower. I've looked at assorted terrariums, etc. but am at a loss as to what to do next. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!
A small fish tank with a little water in the bottom and hang the orchid about half way down or you can use a milk jug or 2 liter soda bottle to create more humidity and heat. The green nubs are a good sign. keep the container where it can get good light but no direct light, the container will cook it. Good luck

One day I will try to grow this mysterious chid my self, but for now i find it soo interesting to read all this treads about it!

But i have one question... Since i live in Europe, Norway, i understand there will be quite a challenge to purchase one. Why is it that most growers do not want to ship to Europe? Is it becouse the long, and mabe expensive, shipping?

The biggest problem is CITES. No plant can leave America without CITES certificate. I think that there isn't any source in Europe. I'm looking for one for over a year and I can't find it anywhere. Grrr....

I recommend getting the flask. The adult plants would probably not make the transit to Europe well. They'll most likely get so dessicated and stressed, they may not make it.

Good Luck everyone with the ghost orchids. I can not keep them alive. Even tried putting the leafless orchid inside a jar for more humidity.

Happy Growing!

Sold out! They only had 20 plants, apparently.

I think I got one, they haven't emailed me otherwise....yet! rubeninorchids.com has pocket flasks (4-5 plants) for like $20. I emailed them to see if they were still available....they haven't updated their website since WOC.
