I see a future children's book being written that all orchid fanatics will read to their small ones; The Little Den That Could.

Congrats on having one heck of a fighter and I hope those little keikis will keep growing for you!

I am amazed at how quickly den keikis grow. One of my dens is working on one at the moment - last week it was a green spec and now it's over 1cm tall with two little leaves and a root that's nearly 2cm long. I wish I'd taken a picture of it every day to show the growth rate!

Help needed on reviving my dendrobium!
Default Spring update...

So these little but super fast growing keikis have finally been seperated from the mother cane, and I potted them up in small plastic pots.
Here are pictures of before and after. These must love sun because I had been growing them under halogen lamp, then since I moved, I exposed them to direct sun. They didn't even develop purplish cast as some of my other dens did, and these are babies too!
Really really tough and I love them.
I hope they make this transition fine. time will tell.

Last fall, I cut off two keikis that were already about 6 inches. They are now growing new shoots. How cute!
Last two pictures show them.

Wow, these look very healthy. I had no idea you could do that.

I have a similar-looking Dendrobium that I've had for many years. It has taken a lot of abuse over the years and still manages to survive.

I am a bit concerned because these little ones have been growing so well on moist moss. Now that they are planted in fine grade bark mix, they are rather dry and not sure if they will grow alright with this rater drastic shift.

By the way, I just tried what I read in a book and it certainly worked. I had kept dendrobium Genting Fragrance which has been rootless in the past few month. I am now trying that one hoping to get some babies off the old canes as well. They smell soooo nice so I definitely want it to survive.

wish me luck!

Great rescue work. Good luck with them as they adjust to the bark but I think they should be fine, they look pretty strong.

I have one that was leafless and poor roots which has started to grow having just left it potted up, but another that was in the same situation is showing no signs. Maybe I need to dry what you did as a last ditch attempt to get it going.

These little plants are the most robust I've ever grown!

They are potted in clear plastic pots so I can monitor the root zone, but unfortunately, the bark mix does not get wet enough. These guys slowed down their growing since transplanted.
I might switch them to some other media like more moisture retentive one.
I'm a little disappointed about the slowed growth because with the size for this plant, I was hoping to see flowers in the late summer. but I haven't given up hope yet.
Hopefully,
