Default Is this Cattleya Warpaint?

I bought a plant years ago as a bare root division that was labeled C. Warpaint. See picture. It blooms around Christmas and it is currently in bloom. I have another plant labeled C. Warpaint that is very different. The flower size is the same but the color is yellow with a red lip and it blooms in the spring. It is also a much smaller plant. I was hoping that some of you seasoned Cattleya growers might be able to tell me if you think this plant is C. Warpaint.

It sure looks like it to me.

The fact that Cattleya (Guarianthe) aurantiaca is a parent could certainly lead to yellow flowers and/or a smaller plant.

There can be huge variation in crosses made with certain species and C. aurantiaca is one of them. Here are several pictures of different plants from the same cross also using C. aurantiaca.
This plant is much larger and the flowers almost twice the size as well as being orange with a spotted lip: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...Little_Ant.JPG
The other plant is smaller with red flowers and no spotting in the lip: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...tle_Ant_3_.JPG
These are also examples of why it is so difficult to identify plants that have lost their tags. The variation within a cross makes almost any such id uncertain. It may look like a picture found on the web, but may be an entirely different cross.

Thank you Ray and Ron. The grower that I bought this plant from was very reputable and also a judge. Based on your comments and his reputation, I am going to consider the plant to be C. Warpaint.
