Just got the ghost I was telling you all about. It is absolutely beautiful!!!!! Probably over two years old on nice cork with live spanish moss all around it. Professionaly grown without doubt. I am so pleased. These are so much better than those tiny ones from Oak Hill. It was mailed today and I got it today no time in the box either. I will post some pictures in a little bit. Think I'll just stare at it for a few because I can't believe my good fortune!!!!! This will make three two from O.H. and this guy.A fair place to start. With luck I will get the other mature plant and possibly the flask also. Looking forward to seeing the progress on the ones you guy's have. Everyones info. has helped me so much thank you all-Martin

Another thing that could be used to sandwich moss are the suet feeders for birds I use them sometimes to mount things on .. Gin

I looked at those suit feeders and that is a good looking way to mount. Think it is especially good if you dont want to construct anything. Just put it on and good to go. Thanks for the trick!-Martin

Okay, going on the fourth week in full sun! This is the largest one, the new growth I showed before is progressing nicely! I noticed it was starting another new growth.....then, upon closer examination, I noticed that it seems to be multiple new growths! So this one is growing great!


This one is a little smaller, and was a little sicklier-looking than the large one. It now has a definite new growth, and is getting greener every day!


I never even showed pics of this one, because it looked so pitiful that I thought it was done for. No new growth yet.....but man, I can't believe how healthy it is looking (considering how it looked before).

So, almost a month in the sun, I'm completely convinced that the ghost loves full sun in my region of Florida...and probably anything south of here!

I have removed mine from the tank and now have it under my Avocado tree and it get early morning sun only. What type of fert. are you using and if I remember correctly you use it at a rate of 1400 ppms?

Swamper,what's up? Give me a few day's and I will have some different stuff to check out. Where can I find a small high quality fan that could be ran through a dimmer switch or similar so it will run super slow but not burn-up? Should be the last piece of my new project!! Last thing,might have tiny mould growing on one small one. Any suggestions until I can find the fan?Thanks-Martin

I use Jack's Classic 20-20-20, 1200-1400ppm (anywhere in there), and then a good rinse after about a half hour.....and I hit them with the hose in the morning and afternoon. I also use Liquid Seaweed, Epsom salts, Cal-Mag Plus, fish emulsions, and vitamin B as part of the 1400ppm (during the summer)....but these are optional for some people. If you add all this stuff, it really only ends up being a half a scoop of Jack's per gallon of water. What can I say....I'm a firm believer in micro-nutrients.

Most office stores sell small 12v fans for computers that are 2-speed, you just have to buy one of those plug-in transformers to make it 110v. Or if you want something bigger, bathroom exhaust fans work well if you build a little box around them.
