To me, they appear to just be a bunch of seedlings, tied together to look like an adult plant!

I found it very ''odd'' that the plant or the piece of this stuff that had a central point where more than one ''rootlet'' came together died realitively fast. During this time while I am messing with it the two little pieces of root are drying up on a piece of moss. I almost tossed them but soaked the moss covered the glass with saran wrap and the rest should have been history. They are still very alive!!! I am like you though where are they going to grow from? Will they just get longer, die or make a plant? Sure hope for the plant.I'll post some new pictures. Like I said used small amount of roottone on them. Probably would not have done that if had it to do over. Guess we will see how it goes.

Okay everyone (especially you Dave), I've got good news! The first picture is the one I took on Monday, and showed earlier in this post. The second picturewas taken about an hour ago. Anyone notice anything different?ODD thing with Polyrrhizza-2008_0831xmas0004-jpgODD thing with Polyrrhizza-2008_0903xmas0009-jpg
I've got new growth!!!!!!!! 11 days in full Florida sun, watered twice a day! The following pics are closer shots of the new growth, and a tiny new growth that is starting on the other one that was in full sun.

So, I guess this is proof that the ghost loves the sun. Who would have thunk it? I can't say that this holds true in a dryer climate, I'm only about three hours north of it's natural habitat. So all you Floridians can free your ghosts now.....Dave! If you do it to fast, and kill it.....don't blame me! Hope this helps, because as sickly as mine looked a week ago....they now look better than the day they arrived. I'm going to feed 'em all, see ya!

I know....from reading all the care and precautions, I think I over-cared for the first five that I bought. I've just left these out there. I water at about 7am and 4pm every day....and I don't know why everyone says to feed them very lightly. These get 1400ppm, twice a week, just like the rest of them! MYTH BUSTED!!!

Jasen,
What is your airflow situation around your ghosts? Lots of wind, moderate wind or none at all?

It varies day to day.

What is the average? I have a 5-15mph breeze most of the time and Im wondering if that's too much.

This all sounds great! BUT you need to give it a little more time before you come to any conclusions. I would still call it plausible but not confirmed. Your recent success my be do to proper lighting or better then you were giving. and you do water 2 twice a day, which most people would consider a pain. Also you do live reasonable close to where they grow naturally. this may not work for others in different regions. I hope it does work out I would love to mount mine on a tree. I will be anxiously waiting to see your long term results. Good Luck
