if that's indeed the case... the way to do it is taking the plant to a Botanical Garden and let it be identified by a botanist (a article would then be published at a serious scientific journal reporting that the plants was found again!) This way, it can be ensured that indeed it is a re-found species, or a new species, or a new variety of a know species, or that you were "too happy, too early"
