Same here.
I think some of it due to the amount of advertising shown here. Each ad is populated from its own server, and how fast or slow those load is part of the overall page load time. If one of those servers, or a hub between it and O has any issues, there will be real delays.

Because I'm a support and because I use an ad blocker I don't see any ads. I still experience the slow loads.

Not seeing it doesn't necessarily mean it's not loading in the background, does it?

I don't think ads are loaded in the background when ad blockers are used. Ad blocker programs refuse incoming connections from a long list of URLs. The list is constantly updated by somebody. A page you request sends requests for the ads, but the blocker intervenes and refuses the incoming data packets. They are not loaded.
On every other site, like news sites, ad blocking leads to very much faster page loads. I would expect it to be the same here on OB. You can try it for yourself.
Chrome browser tries to prevent ad blocking because Google depends on ad revenue. A number of other browsers are based on Chrome, like Opera, which I use. Opera has been written to permit ad blocking. Firefox allows ad blocking quite easily. Install Firefox and load an ad-heavy page like Yahoo or MSN. Then install the add-on Adblock Plus, enable it and compare. Adblock Plus has a setting to show a blank box where the ad would have been, so you can see where they would have been.

Yep. I'm getting timeouts and delays. They seemed gone for a few days but now the situation is as bad as ever.

What dounoharm said in post #35. I click out when it gets slow after a few pages, so I don't wait around for timeouts.
