Yeah, we prefer it if you don't respond to spammers, especially don't quote their post in a responce. The reason is that once we delete the spam it will seem out of place, and if you have quoted them then we may not notice that effectively their spam is still there.

But if genuine members do this there will be no action taken against them except to advice them why we would rather they didn't do it.

Sorry Wrebbitrocks if you freaked out, that was not the intention. Just remember that unlike some forums we don't tell people off, or give them temporary (or permenant bans) unless we really really have to. Little mistakes will get no more than an advise message (if even that). Genuine members (as aposed to spammers) can only really get in trouble if you are rude or abusive to other members... thank goodness that is very rare (although not unknown).

I've just tried to write out as a new post and sticky with the list of what is and isn't spam.

Thanks for asking the question Wrebbitrocks, it made me realise we need to clarify this.

If anyone thinks of anything I've missed or I've got wrong please let me know and I will amend the post.
