Hate to be the bearer of bad news but...spacial challenges is a never-ending battle and is part and parcel of orchid addiction.
I went the way of metal shelves where the levels can be adjusted. They are readily available online and in stores like Lowe's. I chose black...and they have taken over our family and dining rooms. Bonus- lights hang easily under each shelf because of the open structure of the materials AND they look nice.
I had the same issue, so I went very vertical with two levels of shelves. But once you run out of that space, you fill in the gaps with mounted/hanging plants. Don't worry. Everyone goes through this phase, but it's always so exciting to experiment with new plants!
We feel your pain. So now take yourself to Lowes or Costco and to buy a 4 tiered shelving unit. Add some T5's, a fan and you'll be fine. My math skills are bad, so I don't know how many orchids I have ....lies, lies....
I have very limited space in my 1br apartment. In addition or as an alternative, there are always the mini orchids. I have roughly 130 orchids but most of them would fit into a sandwich bag.
