This is just a thought... In windows that don't have the required light levels, one could use mirrors to redirect the non-absorbed light towards the plants.

Does anyone put this in practice?

Believe it or not, a pure white wall would be a better choice.

A mirror reflects light away at the same angle as the incidence. Sunlight coming down through a window will be reflected at that same angle down to the floor.

A white wall, on the other hand, absorbs the light, then reradiates it in all directions (which is why it appears white no matter where you are when you view it).

A white wall is the best, of course, because it difuses light avoiding high temps caused by light concentration in a smaller area. A mirror would concentrate it with the risk of burning the leaves. But with low or medium light intensities I believe the risk is minimal.
I have white walls but sometimes I also use a white piece of cloth, a bed sheet or whatever.
About the mirror...I was thinking about an adjustable mirror so that light direction can be adjusted.

Anyone who has a fotometer can do this experiment for me and measure the intensities?

If you look at European oil paintings of interiors from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries, you will often see in the background of the room a convex hemispherical mirror mounted on the wall in an ornate wooden frame. These were carefully placed to catch rays of sun that entered rooms and diffuse the light throughout the room. The science of optics was not well understood then.
