First picture is facing South, shows a little of the East window area and all of the West window of that room. Second picture shows West window (bathroom). I didn't take the other East window because it's all Phals, and I only have 2 in bloom there. 4 mini phals in bloom in South window plus Sharry baby and NoID Colmanara. They don't show up very well with the back light from the window. I also have another East window with 3 Onc. hybrids, one of which is in spike.

If you pack them a bit tighter though you could fit more in

long lasting
I was given an orchid in full bloom on the death of my MIL in October 2013 which I placed on my windowsill. I know nothing about orchids but it just keeps flowering!! It has never been without a flower in all this time (20 months).
I keep waiting for it to stop flowering to repot but when it got down to it's last flower the new spike appeared and the old one sprouted more buds. At present has 4 large white blooms and 3 buds on one stem and another spike with at least 5 buds. Foiled again!

Had I been an orchid enthusiast when I bought my house I would have given thought to good growing windows. And a basement!
