Thank you! Our local Lowe's has this variety all the time. When I got it as a floppy, withered rescue, the flowers weren't very pretty, but this time around they are much better, plus it's my first mount so I really love it!
To answer your question, I just soak the roots and mount with a spray bottle, usually once daily but sometimes I miss a day. I was out of town for a week in the fall and was worried it might get dehydrated, but it was fine. The plant was mounted over a ball of sphagnum that retains some moisture.
In the photo you can see that it hangs over a snake plant (also known as mother-in-law's tongue), so any excess water drips neatly onto the potted plant below
As for cleanliness, well there's dirt and dust on the floor like every other room plus all kinds of little bugs crawling around in there (like ants, spiders, and fungus gnats) thanks to the plants. Killed a wasp in there today
