Warm peaceful Spring afternoon
I had just finished dealing with the water spill. then I looked at this angle at my windowsill, three little orchids in bloom sitting close together.
The yellow/orange spotted one is Oncidium Sunlight NN which has been in bloom over two months now, very fragrant, the mini phal started to open last week.
love that color!
Paph. Hsinying Alien just began opening up a couple of days go.
A culture note: this is a south facing window with fine mesh net drawn across it. The oncidium stays year around. The phal usually sits further in for the summer.
This particular paph was grown under LED light but as the spike grew taller and taller, I had to get it out of the light setup. Although it is sitting very close to the south window, it is not sitting at the windowsill but on a plant stand very close to it. That's where almost all my paphs are. They get brief direct sun but shaded by taller plants like dendrobiums that sit right next to the glass.
The second picture is a mini phals that keeps on making more and more buds. This one is sitting on another stand close to south window but doesn't get direct sun more than one hour a day, yet it does get bright light all day.
