Great use of space! I buy supplies at Robert'swhen he comes to our shows. Are you going to the show in Ohio in October, Orchids and Art?

Our youngest child has a school-related activity that requires our presence so I won't be going. Some of our society is making the trek, though.

It is likely for the best I am not going...too much temptation.

Thanks! In a few months, the passiflora will make it look like a jungle.

Wow, not sure you'll get much light into the room but the orchids look happy.

I've done something similar with my bathroom this year, hanging my mounted orchids in the window and packing the windowledge and counter just inside it with orchids.

Sounds as though you made good use of that window. Do you ever think of the early days when you had a few on a window ledge?

How do you water your hanging orchids? Do you take them down and put them back up individually?

In the big window (double glass doors), I have hanging a den aggregatum, a cyncnodes, and, soon, the two kingianums (still outside), all to ignore. The cattleya schroderae, angraecums, tuberlabium woodii, brassavolas, aerides, soph cernua, ascocentrum pumilum, podangis, laelia ancepts, and neos all get hit with a spray bottle until the roots turn green (usually every day) and, for a few, an occasional good watering with a watering can. I have a thick drop cloth underneath to prevent damage.
In the other window, I have catchpots and I just water them slowly to get the moss and lava rock wet. I take the various orchids down to check on them about once a month, if last winter is any indication. We have softened water, so the sink is not an option.
I don't spend much time caring for my plants (10 minutes, on average) but I do tend to them almost every day. It is a way to relax.
