Thank you! He was a cutie as a kitten too.
I'm worried I might be killing my happy plant. Just found out that my fertilizing regime could be creating water with an extremely low pH.

And honestly he looks smaller in that photo than in person lol.

I love him too! Now that people have seen him I suppose I should tell you his name. Dio...
He is... very much so... a constant supply of pretty incredible kitty love.
Please do! I love seeing people's setups.

Holy cow! Before clicking on that photo I thought it was a dog!!! Ha ha!!!
For people who worry about posting too many photos may I suggest you post a few here of the whole set-up for all to see and start your own thread. I think it would be kind of fun for everyone to have their own thread that others can comment on, and make it like a diary of what we do, what we buy, what new things we're trying etc... That way we can read about what everyone else is doing for their chids!

He plays fetch... and is leash trained. So almost a dog.
Good idea! We could link to our own individual threads at the end of our introductory post in this thread.

I got a curio cabinet for that very fact...grrrr....cats!! It's not a window cabinet, though...It's got a few grow lights which is only currently holding one or two orchids and a lot of other miscellaneous plants...only one sort of decent window in this house and it's taken!
Love your idea though, might have to steal it.....

I lucked out, and my husband was able to get it from his work when they were moving to a smaller office. I haven't seen anything similar on craigslist, I've been looking for something similar, but nothing has all 4 sides as glass.
I'm thinking of getting an LED light for the light inside the case, hook it up and get some more light in there. For now though, the light I have set up next to it is doing some good.
Come summer time, I'll start moving them out onto the front deck for more sun. And begin pressuring the husband to convert our front deck into a sun room for me

I would love one of those greenhouse windows! (and a sun room, but that will have to wait for our next house!)
I've seen some display cases, but nothing tall and skinny like yours.

I saw some similar on re pot me, or something like that. But they were sooooo expensive! The ones there were like $30 locally I can get the same thing for about $6. Retail. I get mine at a greenhouse/garden center/grocery store. It's this great little store (well they have three or four of them now) that has super cheap produce and meat, then a bunch of really expensive canned and boxed goods. Maybe some smaller garden centers near you carry them?

I don't know if you have a Big job lot near you, but the one near me had orchid pots for under $ 7:00

Window Gardening
This isn't exactly windowsill gardening, but it's close
They're in a window facing west.
