I have never ordered from this vendor, but have seen their sales display at the Tamiami show. Their plants were good. Many were things in flower recently acquired for the show, but their own plants looked good.

I might point out there is an Orchid Board member named orchidsamore, who has made numerous posts giving extremely good advice about growing many plants. Especially beginners could learn a lot reading through the old posts.

Hi. Great all around. They were on point with the shipping and packing and the plants did not skip a beat in growing

thanks for the update. I was just worried because their store doesn't have photos of the actual plant for sale, but instead have photos of the blooms.

I ordered 5 orchids from orchidsamore. 4 were OK, one looked suspicious so I quarantined it for a month. It continued to decline. Tested it twice with Agdia Immuno strips (my last two strips$$) and it tested positive for both viruses. Sent email asking for refund or replacement (with pics of the plant and the two strips), but cannot get a response. I won't order from them again. Will stick with Hausermann's and SVO.

I've tried contacting them to see if they have something in stock. No response.

i am going to soften my review to be less glowing...one of the plants from my first order took a hard turn and when i got into the plant deeper i found a lot of scale (the plant had a folded fan growth so they could not be seen until they started to cause damage. i had a second order after the June one and it had a plant i had to cut basically in half because of the mushy parts and questionable black spots.

I will go with them at shows or where i can REALLY look at the plant....i have now had three out of maybe 15 plants that i was disappointed with and those are not good numbers

So I went ahead and ordered from OrchidsAmore. Mcv Frances Fox, and a Ctsm fimbriatum to level out the shipping vs orchid cost.

Here's what they looked like on arrival 10/7/2020:

The Mcv looked great and was well packaged. The Ctsm had a thin plastic sleeve over part of the leaves, and there was no other packing. It obviously took a big beating by the postal service.

I emailed the owner, and told him I was disappointed in the packing on the Ctsm. Also, told him I'd heard varying reviews, and it appeared poor packaging was the most often reflected complaint. Said it was a good thing the leaves would be falling off this winter and I wouldn't have to look at them for years to come. Expressed that poor packaging was an easy thing to rectify, and perhaps he should look into that. His reply was basically the Ctsm was a rarely seen orchid, the leaves would fall off anyway, and if I didn't like it to send it back then he'd refund my money. No comment on the packaging, other than it was too bad the post office was so rough with it. No other comments back and forth, and all I will say is our dialogue back and forth was less than professional on his part.

So then I unpotted the Mcv this past week to repot it. There was a thin layer of new bark on top, then a rotten medium beneath. The one brown sheath that was still on the plant (others had been removed) was black from top to bottom, soft and mushy.

This side, about halfway along the lead, is where I removed the rotten pbulb. It was a new side lead with a half-grown up pbulb.

The Ctsm looks like this a week later. All leaves fell off except the one shown, which I cut off after taking the picture...

There's a tiny little bulb that was lying in the medium, not attached to anything, but no roots. Cute, ain't it?

I didn't bother to get back in touch. Wasn't interested in hearing it. Won't likely be purchasing again. I know stuff happens, but his attitude was not what I'd anticipated. Especially since I wasn't asking for anything, and merely giving my opinion about packaging.

I'll leave y'all to figure out if it's worth ordering from them.

Now off to the Ctsm thread to figure out what to do with this guy (having never grown one before).

I think there is a chance the Catasetum leaves were already dropping when they packaged it up. The pseudobulb looks completely mature.

After my last experience, with steadily declining Customer service and plant products, I will not be doing business with them again, even at a show of that happens again.

It’s one thing to have issues, another to get defensive and then another to make that bad situation a bad practice. Done
