Akatsuka WOW!
I just received an order from Akatsuka which I placed after finding that they had Oncidiopsis (Burrageara) Nelly Isler available. All I can say is, like the title says "WOW!". Having read some reviews and taking a look at the flat rate $19 shipping, I naturally decided multiple plants were in order, so I added on a Prosthechea radiata and a Cattleya (Laelia) purpurata. First off, the box was bigger than I expected. The packing was first class, and while the prices weren't the lowest I'll let pics of the plants speak for themselves!

Subrosa, the orchids all look beautiful! My Nelly Isler has been in full-growth mode so I am hoping the next stage will be some fragrant blooms.
Good luck to you and Dolly on your new orchids!

Just took delivery of my second Akatsuka order within the last month. Plants are huge for what you pay and seem very healthy. Shipping is in line with what I have paid for orders from other Hawaiian vendors, so nothing unusual there.
If you poke around their website, they list quite a few famous, AOS awarded clones along with their own crosses. Listings change almost daily. Pleased with the plants I received and would recommend them.

emmajs243, another place in Hawaii I highly recommend is H&R Nurseries H&R Nurseries Orchids, (with the caveat that I've never ordered from them through the mail, since I am spoiled and can just drive there). They have a big selection of interesting plants, especially Cattleyas and Dendrobiums, and everything I've gotten from them has been reasonably priced and very healthy. Plus, they just seem like nice people - the last time I was there they were about to close up early because of illness, but they stayed open for me while I ran around and grabbed the stuff on my list.
