Beautiful Phal. tetraspis cross. I wonder if the color pattern will stay the same over time.
For the Phal, none of the ones in bloom had the same pattern, and given the large amount of #C1 in the cross, I think every bloom will be different. I chose a plant which wasn't in bloom, but in low spike (to avoid blasting issues), so I'm curious to see what the flowers will look like!

As to skating, the Dutch are completely insane about speed skating. As soon as the temps go below freezing for a few days the radio/TV is often reporting on ice thickness, potential for skating, and once cold enough, which towns are organizing skating races. Unfortunately, due to to climate change, skating is only possible every 4-5 years now, and the last '11 city race' (200km/125mi, 16,000 participants- and you pretty much need to get on the waiting list at birth) was in 1997...

This is in my town (photos from last year we got lucky with 2 consecutive winters with skating):

Nice haul Camille and thanks for the pictures. Is that a vanilla vine growing in the one picture?

Yes it is. A huge, monster (well, compared to others I've seen) vanilla vine. It also had a lot of big fat seed pods on it, thicker than my thumb.

The Cattleya in the last photo is Lc. Santa Barbara Sunset "Showtime" HCC/AOS. I hesitated to get it, but already had enough orchids in the box. Lucky you , you can get it directly from SBOE if you want!

I am trying not to add too many phals as the space I grow them in is full. I have a few oncidium types so two more will be a nice addition. The dendrobium is an unknown - I have one solitary den-phal which is in it's third year so it will soon have a companion.
My order turned up today. Well packaged and no loose media in the box.
All plants look really healthy :-
Phalaenopsis Younghhome...in spike
Miltonia candida...was really big - it naturally split into two
Plus I got a freebie which was Masdevallia civilis, so that will be interesting to see how that survives windowsill culture.

Nice! That was fast. I'm expecting my order from Elsner today.

Any photos of your purchases? I'm quite jealous that you got a freebie, I've ordered several times and never gotten a bonus plant. Good luck with the Masdie, I've never had luck with this genus on windowsills.
