I LOVE CARMELA'S....

it just doesn't get better than this!...I have been coveting a plug order for one of my fav cats....pot Hawaiian prominence 'america' FCC/AOS....I was just waiting to get some...ok so I finally got around to it, and their specials this month were really intriguing....I chose the 'maddie's first thanksgiving'....Maddie being the new baby there.....15 bare root plants, their choice, for 85$...so I jumped on it! they arrived last nite, in the dark, but I had to take a quick look!

it was a pretty big box! I opened it, and started unwrapping, the bare root plants WERE HUGE! and the plugs were also very large! I was happy!

so this morning, I go out and start potting. I put all in 5" net pots except for 2 8" azalea pots...I put the plugs in a sheet of seedling pots, and ended up with 36 of them!...they will sit there with a bit of small bark for a couple months....

one plant ended up as 3, C. dupreana coerulea sub var 'kodama', and several others made the 'split' too!











I am thrilled to death, and my greenhouse is major league packed!

Love them too! We picked a box full of assorted species and hybrids potted last month for $100. They sent over 20 plants, 6 where in spike, and two where in bloom. They sent 6 cattleya hybrids in 3 1/2” pots including Blc. Golf Green ‘Hair Pig’ and Lc. Cariad’s mini-quinee ‘angel kiss’. Also, a couple of vandas, phals, and bulbos. A Epi. Porpax and two other epidendrums, three oncidium types including Cisweinfia pusilla and three large Dendrobiums with Den. Regina Busse, a beautiful red velvety colored one in bloom. I set up the plug babies a little mo betta.....I had just crammed them into the holes on the seedling flats, so I went back today and set them up better and filled in the cups with small bark paph mix....I think they will do fine!

this is an old pic of the grown one I had long ago....isn't it just gorgeous? I plan on selling some of my babies when they get bigger!
