The dock is only warm when my computer is turned on, so not during weekends! I'll see in the lab if we have petri dishes of the right size to cover the front opening. But otherwise I'm thinking of bringing it home. I like having it on my desk and looking at it, but watering will be easier to deal with at home.

How about using cling film to cover the opening, I guess you could even puncture a couple of holes in it to allow some air flow.
