I joined before the big spam incident that changed the posts so I never needed to deal with it. No idea.

As said on your other thread, I am sorry for your disappointment. I hope your divisions will grow like crazy and give you flowers very soon. Good luck!

I've bought the majority of my orchids off ebay for years. You have to be cautious, but there are great vendors. I've never had a bad experience. Leave a negative review! And make a claim on ebay with pictures. You'll most likely get your money back.

I'm puzzled about that too, and it's not the first person I've seen be alble to post photos right away. Maybe this rule was lifted and those who can't post need to resize their photos. I'll have to try to reach out to an admin for them to go check in the forum settings.

I have wondered whether it is related to whether people try to post photos from their phone, or a desktop/laptop. I have no way of knowing which device they use to post. An administrator with full privileges can look at the logs.

I am sorry to hear this Optimist. I looked through the other thread and am appalled that he followed you here, personally. That is not a sign of good character nor any kind of attempt to make things right. It's definitely not the sign of a professional, but of a bully.

I sell some plants on eBay and my motto is that if I would be disappointed to receive it, then I either don't sell it or I explicitly state defects and sell it dirt cheap. I know what it's likely to be on the receiving end of those poor quality plants and would not want to do that to anybody else.

I wouldn't write off eBay - there are some very good vendors there (and there's some overlap as well). I have been very disappointed with other non-eBay vendors as well with no resolution except that I will not buy from them.

*Edited to add, I would personally report him to eBay for publicly disclosing your personal contact information. If you contacted him by email, and not through eBay, you claim won't have much in the way of teeth.

From the eBay user agreement:
Quote:
Privacy of Others; Marketing

If eBay provides you with information about another user, you agree you will use the information only for the purposes that it is provided to you. You may not disclose, sell, rent, or distribute a user's information to a third party for purposes unrelated to the Services. Additionally, you may not use information for marketing purposes, via electronic or other means, unless you obtain the consent of the specific user to do so.

Whether he followed you here or not, in my opinion he belittled himself, and showed his true color, by calling you "crazy".

While I understand the frustration/anger of being on the wrong side of a bad deal on ebay and the issues in dealing with the vendor, there is no need to continue to personally attack him like I see in the previous two posts. Yes, he started the name calling, but let's be the adults in this and keep thing civil, ok? This is not what OB is about, and we have prided ourselves for many years for being the most friendly orchid forum there is.
