H&R Nurseries
I was pointed in the direction of H&R on this forum by Dolly when I mentioned that I was looking for a Den spectabile to replace the one I killed. Their order list had some incredible things listed, like some species I've been wanting to try, and they were all very, very good prices.
I ordered:
blooming size Den. spectabile, Den. jenkinsii and Den. Nora Tokunagu
And near blooming size Den. bracteosum, Den. faciferum, Den. amethystoglossum, and a Den. Touch of Gold.
Shipping cost was reasonable and they give discounts on orders over $100 (mine didn't cost that much though). They had my order packed and shipped the day after I emailed them my purchase form.
The plants themselves? HOLY CRAP! These are some great looking dendrobiums! Every one of them has new growth and amazing root systems. The healthiest I have ever received from a nursery. The Nora Tokunaga was in bloom, the amethystoglossom has two canes about 20" tall and is definitely blooming size, the "near blooming size" bracteosum was blooming and the Touch of Gold is spiking.
I am in love and will be buying a lot more from them in the near future! Here is a pic of them all on the plant stand and also a pic of the root ball of the den spectabile that I posted in the potting questions section of the forum (I was panicking, i had no idea what to do with such a healthy plant) and all of the orchids looked like this when I popped them out of their pots

Ditto, and they go way back. I know I ordered from them in the pre-internet dark ages.

I forgot to add in the Den Microchip that I purchased for my mom. It was a $7, near blooming size in a 2" pot. Turns out this little beauty has been previously bloomed, is in spike and is bigger, bushier, and far better looking than my Microchip that I've had for 2 and a half years that came from somewhere else. That one was supposedly "bloom size" in a 4" pot, that in actuality was on the cusp of seedling/nbs, overpotted, and only had 5 canes:/ It looks better now and squeezed out some blooms last December, but still not as good looking as this new one.
I think Im going to keep this new one and give my mom my old one. Maybe I'll just keep them both and place another order since I'm kicking myself for not picking up the Den smilliae, convolutum and macrophyllum...

H&R actually helped First Rays get a start by offering me the opportunity to purchase from them "wholesale", even though my order size was a fraction of what they would typically do.

Roy Tokunaga of H&R gives great presentations at orchid shows. If you ever have a chance to see him, it is well worth an effort.

Their plants are wonderful.
A member of our orchid society arranges a group order every time a new H&R list comes out. We usually manage a big enough order to get a discount. The plants arrive a day or two after being shipped. She has the shipment held at the UPS office for her to pick up, rather than going out on the hot delivery truck, so we aren't afraid to do this in hot weather.

Only partially
That's a good idea about holding it at the post office. Some of my leaves on the spectabile were a bit blotchy and spotty from heat stress when I pulled it out of the box. Thankfully it cleared up by the next day but I would like to avoid that if possible
