Anyone place an order with NWO since Christmas? I know the holidays come into play with shipping, that's to be expected. I placed an order for a Neofinetia on Dec. 31st, I received a confirmation of my order on Jan. 1st showing 2 day shipping. I honestly expected the order to arrive today if it was shipped on Monday the 2nd. Now I'm wondering if it may not have shipped until Tuesday the 3rd, possibly arriving on Thursday the 5th. I checked the order status today and it shows "processing", same thing it has shown since I placed the order. I contacted them through their website this morning asking for any update on shipping. I've received no reply.

Their website doesn't have any shipping information as far as days they ship orders or what method they use, just the 2 day shipping @ $15.00. No mention of tracking. This is my first order with NWO and I've only heard positive things about them. I guess I should give them a call tomorrow if I don't have a reply by then. Just seems odd to me. Anyone else recently order from NWO?

They're in Michigan? I'd be dialing over and over again begging them NOT to ship my orchids until the current horrible weather passes. This week is going to be MISERABLE for the upper Midwest.

Based on weather reports I've heard on TV, weather might be a factor.

I too would suspect weather. I recently had an order held by Mountain Orchids when we had a cold snap coupled with the Christmas rush. I was never contacted but I just assumed it to be the case. Sure enough, the next warmish day after Christmas my plant was shipped and I had it the following day.

That said, I've only ordered one Neo from them. I bought a three growth plant and they sent a four growth one and it arrived pretty timely (was the end of summer though), so they have gotten a A+ score for my one order.

I have to agree, it must be weather related. I mentioned the cold in my message this morning, without a reply I think I'll give them a call tomorrow. I had an order from Andy's held for almost a week last year but Harry called me to let me know. I have no problem waiting, it's better than a frozen plant.

Having no communication from NWO, I hope they are just busy and not without power! What a nightmare that would be for them. Thanks for your replies!

Monday, January 2 was an USPS holiday.

I was informed my shipment from elsewhere in the North is held back. Never experienced weather delays before.

yeah ordering this time of year is overall kinda nerve wracking... I generally won't order from vendors in north or east this time of year... I do wonder the lull in business they must experience.

I've ordered from them a couple times in past and they really just get to it when they get to it.... very much a mom and pop vendor type... one of those things with vendors... some of them if they forget to ship it they just do and don't get to it till they remember which might be next week. You can try reaching them and if they're busy maybe no call or email back...

It's been more than a couple of years but I'm pretty sure they send tracking numbers.

Not only USPS but FedEx and Brown were closed on the 2nd.

I forgot other parts of the county have seasons and weather.

I don't think the rest of OB would consider this rain. I was driving in a Virginia May shower a few years ago and it was revelation! As was a shower in Austin TX.
