I am very glad you are part of the forum and I hope you will stay with us. It is great to have you here!
The Slipper post is an older post but it does reflect an issue that might be pertinent to this discussion. Some of the pictures might not even be of the plants that are being sold.
I think feedback is very important to help others negotiate vendors. Recently, I took everyone's advice and ordered from an ebay vendor that was highly recommended for some orchids I could find no where else and I received very nice, healthy plants. I appreciated knowing from whom to order. Now I have seen someone else recommended (that I have met personally) so that makes two.
Your feedback is very important. As you see from the other link someone posted from a few months earlier, you are not the only one to have had issues. You are helping others avoid excitedly open a box only to suffer disappointment.

Yep. Just looking at the store, I saw a picture with 'Carter and Holmes' watermarked on it. It makes me wonder if there is a possibility that they might still be using other people's pictures....[COLOR="Silver"]

But here's the overall point. I have been around orchids for close to 40 years. I've been an eBayer for at least 20. I am careful, I ask questions, etc. I am now simply trying to alert others to what could be a potential problem as extrapolated from my own experience. I believe, however, seeing the replies here, that in the future I'll just keep quiet and let others deal with their own outcomes. This thread clearly indicates that many posters here make awkward presumptions. Or perhaps I simply no longer belong in this Forum?

I think its time for folks to take a couple of deep breaths.
Look, there is no reason to go running off simply because a couple of us took a different viewpoint and/or didnt automatically jump on board w/opinions.
Your additional info further supports your standings. If that had been part of the original posting then, personally, i would not have thought twice about any of this. Just goes to show that leaving out even one important item can have a serious impact on the direction of a conversation.
Regardless of any of that...disagreements and/or differences of opinion are just a normal faction of life and you shouldnt let it chase you off. At the risk of coming off as snarky....chill out, dude. Relax and just know that once in awhile someone might not agree w/something you post but it does NOT mean they want you to go away...he/she simply has a different opinion/take on the situation.

Thanks for the warning about those sellers. I have to admit I was confused by some of your post. I was trying to figure out did you get the plant but the spike was cut or there was no spike at all and it was a different plant. To me when you said you did your " due diligence " I figured you checked feedback and researched the seller, not that your wrote and asked them about the plant spike. So with that cleared up, let us move along to some beautiful bloom pictures or something nice like that

Don't worry about it...I think we're all on the same page now. I don't want to keep beating a dead horse here so let's just move on. Warning noted and the additional info will be helpful to anyone considering that seller.
