Fieldtrip to Hausermann's

Well we made it back from our vacation. It included a stop at Hausermann's. I made it out spending less than $200, so I did ok. It was either keep the purchases small or leave a kid behind to make room for the orchids. We chose to keep the kids, LOL! It was a gorgeous tour through the greenhouses and it was certainly difficult not to buy more. Pictures are attached with the Milt. located last since it is not fully open. Plants not in bloom were not photographed at this time. The plants I picked were:

Neofinetia Falcata (fragrant)
Milt. (Ambre x Lynne Waihee) 'Cream Puff' (fragrant)
Lalia Purpurata var. werkhauseri 'Blue Sky' (fragrant)
Phal. tetraspis (fragrant)


My daughter picked up a mini Phal.:

Phal. Cupid (it is lightly fragrant)

My husband joined in and bought a Bulbo. because it "talked" to him. He liked that when the plant moved the lip of the flower jiggled and appear to be speaking.

The rest of the vacation was spent visiting a couple bogs in Illinois and Wisconsin as well as visiting the air museum in Oshkosh, WI. We only had 3 days to accomplish the round trip back to MO, so the exploring was unfortunately limited. I will post pictures of the bogs in the Off Topic section soon.

Healthy plants, great roots (you need muscle and patience to un-wind roots from nearby pots, benches, etc... not kidding!), nice variety, friendly service, and well worth a visit.

Apparently I missed this post while reading about the Bogs. You had a very nice trip! Looks like Hausermann's was amazing, you made out like a bandit. I love it that your husband joined in too. Beautiful pictures.
