How they handled the situation is far more important to me than the fact that it happened. Glad you're satisfied.

On invoices they clearly state on the shipping costs line "SEE TERMS." This is also visible on the final page before checkout. The terms show the packing fee, among other things. Because I live west of Big Muddy my shipping costs are higher, so I anticipate this when ordering. For example, Katrina reminded me they recently had some Trichopilia on sale. I didn't buy them, because buying them on sale and paying the shipping costs would give a total cost higher than waiting and combining them with a larger order I might place in the spring.

Their Cattleya plants are small, and they clearly state this on the Web site. Their plants are also grown in much shadier and damper situations than other vendors seem to keep, and are more trouble for me to adapt to my conditions.

Other vendors sell larger plants in the same sized pots, and a few sell smaller. But I have sometimes been surprised at the larger-than-expected size of other kinds of plants I've received from Carter & Holmes.
