Default Cloud's Orchids

I've heard many great things about them, and I have been enjoying the pictures of their website for a long time. Then, I finally placed an order earlier this month.

The shipping was fast (4 or 5 days from the day they shipped from eastern Canada), and the best part was the plants.

I have never seen anything healthier and prettier looking than what I took out of that box!
I was very satisfied!

Plants were very carefully packaged as well.
They each had repotting date (s) written on the back of the label, and everything was repotted some time this year. All either January or June, which is right before I ordered them. so all are set for another year at least.

I am definitely going to have to make some room and buy a whole bunch more from Warren.

He's also very quick to respond emails.

In the picture are phalaenopsis Sogo Gotris (yes, it is a one plant, but big and healthy!) for a friend, and the rest are parvi hybrids for me to keep. Sooo cute!!!

I'm close enough that I get to go to their greenhouse. It's always a very enjoyable trip.

You don't need to do anything because they do it for you.
You do have to pay for it, which is $15 (Canadian dollar) plus small handling fees. I paid $5 for my order.
This is for shipping to destinations in the US.
For other countries, they charge $75, which is still very low compared to some places where they ask hundreds of dollars for the paper work.
I wonder why. hmm...

Anyways, so for those in the US, it's almost nothing.

Once I make some room for more, I would love to drive up there. stop by for Niagara Falls in a while, and then orchid shopping in Canada! yay!

I just went to Cloud's this past weekend and am very happy with my purchases. I always repot right away, and since they are very young plants, I am not expecting flowers any time soon anyway.

The roots of my baby plants were all in great shape. Usually I have a big root cleanup to do when I get new orchids, I think one plant (out of seven I went home with) had two rotten roots and the rest looked good.

Good prices, some interesting selection and their orchid supplies (media in particular) is a bargain compared to what you pay at a retail greenhouse (at Terra a 3 ltr bag is $13, at Cloud's a 5.3 ltr bag is $10).

Retail customers can only pick up on Nursery Sale days, so you have to wait until those days to buy as a retail customer, but you can pre-order and buy more while you are there (cash only for the items you didn't pre-pay).

Only 'cons' would be only being able to shop retail on the nursery days (but that's understandable), cash only for drop in purchases, and the plants are all very young, no mature plants to buy that I could see.

But otherwise, I would 100% go back. Great little outfit, and my favourite winery is right around the corner, so I stop there for lunch on the way home
