Orchids.com is the WORST EVER!!
I've had some run-ins in the past with this vendor where MOST of the plants they sent me have been VIRUSED. However since sometimes they have very unique phals that I really want I have decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and still buy from them from time to time.
Well NO MORE!
This time I purchased a few phals from them and TWO of them were the WRONG PLANT. When the buds opened the flowers were completely different than what they were supposed to be! So I sent them pictures and when I talked to them on the phone they made all kinds of excuses and expected me to feel grateful that they weren't going to ask me to send them back on my own dime... ugh thanks (?)
When I got a replacement plant that they sent me (which was cheaper than the one the screwed up), it turns out the plant has a TERMINAL SPIKE. When I emailed them a picture saying that the plant has a terminal spike and will likely stop growing, they sent me an email asking me if I wanted to send it back. When I asked if I was expected to pay for the return shipping, I got an email from them stating: "please do not make future orders with Orchids.com as they will be cancelled".
Are you serious?? First they send me the wrong plants and expect me to be grateful that they aren't making me pay to send them back, then they send me one with a terminal spike and when I ask for this to be corrected they cut me off?? This is no way to treat a customer and you know what Orchids.com? There are plenty of other honest sellers that sell HEALTHY plants and treat their customers with RESPECT. Good riddance and when this all catches up to you, I won't feel one bit bad for you.

Oh geez. That's just insane. I'm so sorry that happened. Sadly I have a similar story though I never got myself under an embargo for them. Meh. You're better off without them.

WTF!!!
I've heard many things, mostly not great, about them, and they finally went psycho!
I'm sure they are selling enough to have an above poverty line, but wow! This is just so f*##ed up!
They are not sorry about mistakes on their part, super rude, and ask customers to stop doing business with them. They must be doing really well.
I know tons of rich people, and have never met any that are this bad up front.
It is a shame because they do have lots of beautiful photos. I will just continue to just look at the photos every now and then. lol
I think people should boycott them altogether and teach them a lesson.
This kind of assholes gotta go!

When I received my Phalaenopsis plant in a flat priority mail envelope....I decided once and for all that they will NEVER get my business EVER again !
They don't know orchids and they don't care about customer service.
So....welcome to the club of banning them from your life!

I have had bad experiences with them in the past, but they recently had a got-to-have phal. I ordered it and then followed up with an e-mail and 2 phone calls. It arrived and it was/is perfect ! The lady - forget her name - especially went out of her way to get me a multi-spiked blooming phal that was the exact colour I wanted ( with seed-grown phals, colours vary dramatically ). I know I put in a lot of effort but no pain, no gain.
That doesn't excuse being treated like a criminal and I think that is despicable. Escualida - you should phone the owner and complain !

It's good you've had a good experience, but one bad one and watch out! I'm pretty sure the owner had a hand in "banning" me, I doubt they let their customer service reps make those kinds of decisions.
P.S. I would get that plant tested for virus just in case.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I'm happy to be told otherwise but I'd always heard that Norman's mainly grew on orchids from other breeders rather than breeding their own stock. You might find that a lot of those unique Phals are available from other mail order/online nurseries if you look around a bit. It's a competitive industry. You don't have to put up with bad service and bad attitudes just to buy the types of orchids you want as there's usually someone else selling very similar stuff.

The stories I have heard, from many sources, about this company makes me want to AVOID them completely. I will never be a customer.

I am so sorry about your experience. I always read the reviews on Dave's Garden now, after a single bad experience. Just ordered from Andy's Orchids...they are really great. You should console yourself with an order from them.
