Santa Barbara orchid estate question???

I'm surprised that after everything that is affecting the citrus in Florida (Citrus Greening, for one) that Florida doesn't have stricter laws.

I've been several times to SBOE. Plenty large a grower. Getting plants from other growers certainly happens, but to no greater extent than any other vendor. Don't know about the particular species you are looking, but I've been buying from them onsite many times. No complaints.

I heard they have very nice plants, no question about it, it just does not work for me to wait month to have something shipped when it is sold in spike now;-)

I was also told by SBOE about quarantine requirement. I would like to order from them because plants on their website look good but I am unwilling to wait a month after ordering.
So, I have not bought anything from them but I get plenty of plants (with soil/without soil/bare root/other media)from nurseries in California and Hawaii , without any problem and they do not make me wait for quarantine.

If SBOE is required to quarantine, it would make sense that they do it before they put plants for sale on the site.
Making a customer wait a month is just a bad policy.

They're only required to quarantine for two states, so there's really no reason not to put it on the website for the other 48 for that month.

Florida does have strict regulations but most everyone ignores them.

Well, if they don't enforce their laws, it is as if they do not exist. I know that when I have ordered fruit trees and berry bushes, the companies have the packet with the papers glued to the outside of the box, along with a sticker, proving that they have been inspected. Not a bad idea for states to require this when plants are shipped to prevent the transfer of disease.

My other concern with the quarantine thing is, would the plant be sitting in a box for a month? I'm not sure how that works.
